Cobequid Dance Academy Presents: B-SIDE HIP HOP FESTIVAL Celebrate the elements of Hip Hop in our community! SATURDAY AUGUST 26TH 12pm-3pm CIVIC SQUARE FREE ADMISSION - ALL AGES MC’d by B-Boy Glizzi from Toronto’s “Bag o Trix” crew DJ’d by DJ IV (Brian Pelrine) Atlantic Canada’s own Ambassador of HipHop, and DJ Kyle Gripski Hough from Toronto’s Albino Zebrah Truro’s 1st Annual B-Side Festival is a community event celebrating all elements of hiphop with special guests coming from across Canada to participate. The four core elements of hip hop (dance, DJing, MCing, and graffiti) celebrate creativity, individuality, and loyalty. Come on out to support this new festival and: Inspire and support new artists Take part in a free workshop Learn something new about this diverse art form Encourage individuality HAVE FUN! Schedule Of Events: 12:00 - Kick-off demo by Team Meraki and performance by CDA Hip Hop students 12:30 - BBoy/Girl Battle Premliminary Round with special guest judge BBoy Jazzy Jester 1:00 - Spin-off DJ Ivy & DJ Gripski 1:30 - Performances by CoYC and performance by guest performers Concrete Roots 2:00 - Workshop - on the green, open to all!
2:30 - BBoy/Girl Battle Finals ***In the event of rain, we will postpone the start time to 1:30pm and all events will take place under the canopy at the Truro Farmer's Market.
