Join CDA faculty member Emma Smit-Geraghty for a one-week Musical Theatre Intensive July 24-28, 2017
Open to students ages 12 and up, this week is designed for students who are considering studying musical theatre after high school or those who wish to up their game and refresh their skills.
The week will include:
-Daily vocal training
-Musical Theatre History projects
-Daily dance technique and performance
-Building a performance resume and audition binder
-How to maintain your training and the importance of self-care
-Headshot training with Johanna Matthews of Portraits by Johanna
-Eating to Fuel Yourself on an Artist's Budget with Michelle Higgins, BSc, PDT
-Applying to Theatre Schools/moving forward
Classes will begin at 9:00am and end at 5:00pm each day.
Tuition Rate - $225 plus hst
Early-bird Rate- Register by June 30th and receive a discount of 15%
Registration deadline - July 31st.
Emma Smit-Geraghty is a graduate of Sheridan Institute’s Musical Theatre – Performance program. She has previously worked at the Groove School of Dance in Toronto as an administrator and a teacher, teaching ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, acro, Glee, music theatre, Zumba, and conditioning. She also worked as the voice teacher for Stagecoach West Toronto and as the Music Director for the Upper Canada Repertory Company. She loves story-telling in all forms, and is wrapping up work on her second playwriting venture. In addition to teaching at CDA and attending school, she works out of her home teaching piano and voice lessons.
