CDA's Annual Development Weekend

January 6, 2020

Greetings Dancers!

CDA’s annual Development Weekend is scheduled for Feb 14-17. Robert McCollum (aka “Ballet Bob”) of Canada’s National Ballet School and Darryl Tracy of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre will both be returning this year accompanied by musicians Larry Graves and Andrew Miller.

Students attending the Development Weekend will have the opportunity to take classes in Ballet with Bob and in Modern with Darryl. They will experience Darryl's encouraging and exciting teaching style that combines artistic and scientific approaches to movement, and Bob’s unique kinaesthetic approach to Ballet. Dancers will explore areas of technical development as well as improvisation and creation techniques.

Attending workshops of this nature is incredibly beneficial to a dancer's training. Not only do the dancers get to experience a new way of looking at their technique and artistry, they will make connections with teachers and choreographers that they may have the opportunity to work with again in their lives at a post-secondary or professional level.
