Development Weekend 2020
Students attending the Development Weekend will have the opportunity to take classes in Ballet with Ballet Bob (NBS) and in Modern with Darryl Tracy (STDT). They will experience Darryl's encouraging and exciting teaching style that combines artistic and scientific approaches to movement, and Bob’s unique kinaesthetic approach to Ballet. Dancers will explore areas of technical development as well as improvisation and creation techniques. In addition, dancers will be dancing to live accompaniment in Darryl and Bob's classes! Returning with Darryl is Juno-nominated percussionist Larry Graves. Larry will be playing for Darryl's classes as well as guiding students through some percussion based movement creation. Accompanying Bob's classes will be CDA's own Andrew Miller.
Attending workshops of this nature is incredibly beneficial to a dancer's training. Not only do the dancers get to experience a new way of looking at their technique and artistry, they will make connections with teachers and choreographers that they may have the opportunity to work with again in their lives at a post-secondary or professional level.
